This 100% Italian mollusc stands out for its unique features due to the particular ecosystem where it is farmed, where the fresh water of the Po meets the salt water of the Adriatic:
From late May to early August (depending on water temperature), Cozza di Scardovari PDO mussels are available fresh, at the peak of their quality and taste.

The Festival della Cozza DOP is held around May, but it does not have a set start or end date.
The Consorzio della Cozza di Scardovari DOP decides when to start, as soon as the mussels are ready and on sale.
